Senior Design

Several students explain their project to Raghavan.

Senior Design

Senior Design is a two-semester course that ties together our students’ engineering education as they near the completion of their bachelor degree. The course focuses on a project that provides a comprehensive, team-oriented design experience in which students apply their acquired knowledge and skills toward the solution of an actual problem faced by a community, agency, or corporation.

Benefits For Students

Students benefit from the opportunity to work on realistic design problems characterized by real-world constraints. To successfully complete the projects, they develop and demonstrate teamwork skills such as individual accountability, cooperation, communication, conflict resolution, and leadership. By the end of the course, students will understand a general design process, how to effectively contribute as a new employee in an industrial project, and be capable of independently designing a product of marketable value.
