Rigoberto Advincula, UT-ORNL Governor’s Chair of Advanced Nanostructured Materials, was nominated by the Journal of Materials Research as a Distinguished Invited Speaker at the 2025 Materials Research Society (MRS) Fall Meeting & Exhibit.

Advincula was invited by JMR to speak for symposium MT01: Accelerating Materials Research Beyond Data-Driven Approaches—Physical Knowledge and Human Intervention in Autonomous Experiments.

The world’s foremost international scientific gathering for materials research, the MRS Fall Meeting & Exhibit will take place November 30-December 5 in Boston.

JMR Distinguished Invited Speakers are selected to provide symposium organizers with highlights of where their field stands today, recognize important individual contributions to their field, and to amplify new directions for the materials research community.
